How does the security deposit work?

Sometimes we all need a little reassurance. A security deposit is an amount set by the host to protect them from potential damages, overtime hours or guest's failure to adhere to Space Rules during the booking. A few things to keep in mind:
  • Before you confirm a new booking, you’ll always be shown the security deposit as a separate amount on the offer
  • You're charged the security deposit one week before your booking occurs
  • The security deposit is automatically refunded 72 hours after your booking, unless your host reports damages or overtime fees associated with the booking
  • You will always be notified if your security deposit is being held, and given the reason(s) why
