What happens if my booking request is declined or expires?
If your booking request is declined by the host or expires (meaning the host didn’t respond within 24 hours), no charge is made for the booking and you’re free to book another space. Find out more about checking the status of your booking.
We urge our hosts to keep their calendars up to date and respond to requests in a timely manner. But, sometimes situations come up that prevent this from happening.
We recommend messaging more than one host before submitting a booking request to ask about their availability along with any other questions you have.
Your payment method may be temporarily authorized for a charge when you request to book a space, but this authorization is voided and released back to the payment method if your request is declined or expires. We complete a charge only when a booking request is confirmed.
