What should I do if a guest wants to see my space before booking?

Typically, thisopenspace only releases contact information for hosts and guests after a booking is confirmed.

If a guest requests a viewing of your space before they book, encourage them to review your listing description and photos, and be available to answer any additional questions they have about your space.

We strongly encourage guests to message you with any questions first before booking a viewing. However, we know that sometimes it is necessary for guests to see a space in person before booking.

Guests can request to book a viewing after they have sent an inquiry or booking request.

Confirming a Viewing

After you've received a viewing request from a guest, you can confirm the viewing.

  1. Go to your Inbox
  2. Open the message from the guest
  3. From inside the message thread with the guest, select a time to confirm
  4. If none of the times work, click None of these work for me

When you confirm a viewing, we will automatically send an email notifying your guest of the date and location of the viewing. The guest will also receive a reminder a day before the viewing.

Rescheduling a Viewing

To reschedule a confirmed viewing:

  1. Go to your Inbox
  2. Open the message from the guest
  3. Click Reschedule
  4. Pick a date and a time. You can add up to 3 options
  5. Click Send Options

We will send an email notifying your guest that you are rescheduling and ask them to confirm the new date and time. Once your guest confirms the new viewing date and time, we will send you an email confirmation.

To protect your booking, note any details discussed in-person in your messages with the guest on thisopenspace. In case of disputes, this is the only way we can verify your correspondence with a guest and help with a resolution.

Booking and payment also need to be made directly through the thisopenspace platform. This helps ensure that you're protected under our Terms of Service, cancellation and refund policies, Host Insurance program, and other safeguards.
